Using a meter I toned out each of the four pins and found that none were\u00a0connected to board. Noticed when the connector is bent, the internal wiring inside the jack break. Unsure if that is good or bad, but it could keep the board from shorting out when\/if plugged into a computer.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.n4n.us\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/USB_ports.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-339\" src=\"https:\/\/www.n4n.us\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/USB_ports.png\" alt=\"usb_ports\" width=\"410\" height=\"142\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.n4n.us\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/USB_ports.png 410w, https:\/\/www.n4n.us\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/USB_ports-300x104.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 410px) 85vw, 410px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Being careful to wire ground and 5+ volts correctly, I wired up\u00a0an old\u00a0usb cable\u00a0from an old keyboard.\u00a0(Test keyboards with [<a href=\"https:\/\/www.n4n.us\/wordpress\/?p=347\">keyboard tester<\/a>]\u00a0and the ones that fail cut off their USB cables and go in\u00a0parts bin.)\u00a0Being very careful not to short any wires, solder cables as shown above. The solder pads for\u00a0the USB connector could\u00a0delaminate from the board, so follow the\u00a0traces to a point you can solder to. JUST long enough to copy off its contents.
